Disabled kids from two centres enjoy condo’s seahorse-shaped pool

FIFTY disabled children had a splashing time at the seahorse-shaped swimming pool at The Haven in Ipoh during an early Christmas party.

The children from Yayasan Sultan Idris Shah Centre in Ipoh and Association of the Network for the Needs of Children with Disabilities Centre, Perak, were given the treat during the commissioning of the 60m-long pool on Dec 22.

The Haven CEO Peter Chan said he invited the children to be the first to enjoy the swimming pool.

“The children, together with their guardians, enjoyed spending a few hours at The Haven’s Poolside Swim Party.

“They were given lunch, took part in a colouring contest and took home gifts and treats. Clowns were also on hand to help entertain them,” he said.

Also present at the event were adviser to the Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Chang Ko Youn and Perak Turf Club chairman Tan Sri V. Jeyaratnam.

The Haven is among the first condo developments to trademark its 60m-long seahorse-shaped swimming pool design.

The newly-completed five-level infinity swimming pool includes a jacuzzi, lap pool, leisure pool, children’s pool and wading pool as well as a four-inch transparent infinity edge at the belly and beak of the sea-horse.

Chan said the Haven looked forward to contributing to the development of Ipoh.

“With the provision of its own amphitheatre for musical and cultural performances, the Haven will soon be holding events to give a boost to Ipoh’s music and culture,” Chan said.
