THE physical and psychological tests experienced in an ultramarathon (a race that exceeds the traditional distance of 42.195km) include fatigue, dehydration, intense pain and hallucinations — all of which can push runners beyond their limits, regardless of how prepared they are.

Given the severity of such a race, many would shy away but not the dauntless 26 runners who attempted the astounding 200km route of the Titi100 Road Ultra Marathon which was dubbed “Malaysia’s Toughest Road Ultra”.
