MALACCA: In the 70s and 80s, the idea of introducing comprehensive and progressive swimming teaching courses was bandied among national and state level swimming coaches, officials and technical personnel.

Also included was the provision of systematic modules as well as promotion of prevention of drowning through safety awareness and water safety procedures.
