The Dalai Lama – a living inspiration

An inspiration: When dealing with difficult people, The Dalai Lama has maintained that there is nothing wrong with having nothing to do with them in order to maintain our own inner peace and serenity.

EARLIER this week, on July 6th, His Holiness the Dalai Lama turned 80. This is a man I have always had great respect and admiration for.

At various points in my life, despite being neither Tibetan nor Buddhist, I’ve found myself reading his books and trying to emulate his teachings to lead a more balanced life, especially in terms of emotional well-being. That he has now lived to this grand old age and been consistent in his beliefs and way of life is something remarkable to me. Considering the ever changing, mutating world we live in, he has remained constant.
