CHINESE calligraphy works by former Gerakan politician Datuk Dr Kang Chin Seng proved to be popular as 23 of the 28 pieces on display were snapped up within hours of the opening.

Dr Kang said buyers were attracted to the religious aspect of his work that centred on 260 words derived from the Buddhist sacred texts known as the Heart Sutra.
