TO MARK the end of a fruitful year, the Chinese believe in celebrating with a big dinner also known as sau gong chau, usually practised by companies and businesses before their staff head home to usher in the Year of the Goat.

In Malaysia, the practice has attracted many companies to extend this custom to their multi-racial staff.
