THE state has now some 42,232ha of mangrove swamps that have been gazetted as permanent forest reserves (PFR) as of September this year.
Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir (BN-Pangkor) said there ha been an increase in PFR land following the gazettement of several mangrove swamps in the past few years, including the 616ha Lekir forest reserve in February this year.
