JOY CAME early to several underprivileged families and individuals in the Indian community this Deepavali when the state government and private companies extended a helping hand to them.

In Buntong, unemployed R. Shanmugam, 69, received contributions from Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and state welfare arm Yayasan Bina Upaya (YBU).
