A show to honour their mentor

Mahathir (right) and his band the Maha Jeffery Band, used to perform with the late Suhana. He also arranged the night’s tribute performances at Merdekarya.

THE late IACT lecturer Suhana Abdul Kadir, who helped and encouraged many Malaysians to get into Klang Valley’s live band scene, was given a befitting tribute in the form of a performance by students and friends.

Petaling Jaya Section 5’s Merdekarya floorspace was packed right from the start as 12 groups came together and performed one after another with five minutes’ break to pay tribute to “Kak Su”, as Suhana was popularly known.
