KOTA KINABALU: An initial effort to help villagers affected by the June 5 Mount Kinabalu earthquake has evolved into a long-term commitment for a group of former students of the Royal Military College (RMC).

Known as the Old Puteras, the group has been instrumental in restoring water supply to more than 8,000 villagers at 29 settlements in Kundasang and Ranau at the mountain’s foothills.
