GROWING up in the heart of George Town, artist Alex Leong was surrounded by historic structures and whiled the days away playing simple traditional games.

He retains a deep affinity for these elements of Penang’s cultural heritage, and often make them the subjects of his work so there would be a visual record should they someday disappear for good.
