Project delay irks Kg Tunku folk

1 The upgrading project involves transforming the monsoon drain into a pedestrian walkway and a recreational space for residents while the drainage system would run underneath the walkway. 2 Residents whose renovated houses encroach into the project were asked to take down structures in the affected area.

RESIDENTS of Kampung Tunku, Petaling Jaya, will have to wait until the end of September for the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to complete its upgrading project of a monsoon drain in the neighbourhood, subject to good weather.

The council began the upgrading project on the drain, located behind the houses near Jalan SS1/21 and Jalan SS1/19, last August after receiving various complaints from residents, including overgrown vegetation and snakes at the site.
