A native’s perspective

The world through their eyes: (From left) Zaidi Lang, Nazeri Nuar, Murhaiziza Yuman and Maznah Apat showing their cameras and work on display.

GIVEN disposable cameras, a group of 50 orang asli students from SMK Karak, a boarding school near Pekan Karak in Pahang, were taught basic photography techniques and were encouraged to explore their surroundings to come up with their own works of art.

With an exciting programme, students aged from 13 to 17, took the opportunity to dabble in photography, understanding effects of light, angles to shoot a subject, and brought out their creative side.
