JOHOR BARU: Residential and commercial property owners within the jurisdiction of the Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) will be slapped with hefty fines for turning their premises into the Aedes mosquitoes breeding ground.

The newly appointed Johor Baru mayor A. Rahim Nin said the move was necessary, as all efforts taken by the council in the past including gotong-royong to eradicate dengue cases had failed.
