Application for Unesco status out of temple committee’s hands


THE Batu Caves Temple Committee, which manages the iconic limestone landmark in Selangor, says application for Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) status is not in their hands.

Maha Mariamman Dhevastanam Temple chairman Tan Sri R. Nadaraja said during the Deepavali festival three years ago, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced that the Government intended to apply for it (Unesco status).
