THE public can sleep a bit more soundly at night as the Perak government closes the chapter on illegal tyre pyrolysis operations in the state.

Some nine months since it became known that old tyres were being cooked to extract industrial oil, carbon black and steel at the expense of public health and the environment, state Health Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon considers the problem solved.
