Autopsy showed old injuries

MALACCA: Doctors from the Seremban and Malacca hospitals conducted an in-depth post-mortem on a 22-month-old girl before Malacca police identified possible abuse elements in the child’s death.

State CID chief Asst Comm Kamaluddin Kassim said the initial police report made by the 26-year-old mother of the victim at Tampin police headquarters on Monday was categorised as sudden death before the status was changed and probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code following the outcome of the autopsy report on the child.
