Market traders told to ignore rumours

Stop the rumours: Tan (centre) with members of other hawkers association

SIBU: Traders at the central market have been advised not to listen to rumours that if they did not receive official notice from the council, it would tantamount to them losing their trading place.

Sibu Hawkers Welfare Association chairman Tan Hong Kiang told a joint press conference with other two hawkers associations on Friday that the Sibu Municipal Council had already assured them that they wanted all the licensed traders to maintain their business there.
