185 join tabla session before a record-making bid on Aug 15

Feel the beat: Shakthivell, one of the three tabla masters, leading the session held at the Penang Botanic Gardens.

THE melodious sounds of the tabla, a traditional Indian instrument, serenaded many at the Penang Botanic Gardens during the soft launch of the Festival of Taalam (FesTaal 2015).

A total of 185 tabla players aged between six and 75 accompanied three tabla masters to render soothing tunes during the two-hour event.
