Citizen put a stop to unauthorised digging

Keeping an eye on things: Council officers, one in a green high-visibility vest (centre) observe the excavator refilling the pilot trench dug without a permit, in Jalan PJU 8/8.

THE sight of an excavator digging up a road in front of the Lung Mu Temple on Jalan PJU 8/8, Damansara Perdana, prompted temple volunteers and one of its advisers to call up the Petaling Jaya City Council to ask if the activity was legal.

As it turns out, the digging was for a pilot trench for soil investigation by project directors of the Empire City commercial development on the other side of the Damansara-Puchong Expressway.
