Mambang Diawan farmers guarding their rice bowl

A notice board put up by the company that claim they are the landowners asking farmers not to enroach into the land.

FARMERS in Mambang Diawan in Kampar gathered as early as 8am at the entrance to their farms, fearing the land they have been toiling on for years would be cleared.

The 38.8ha of the state-owned land had apparently been sold to a private company seven years ago, and despite the 20 over farmers applying for temporary occupational licences (TOL) it was never issued to them.
