Book by Malaysian on the shortlist for ICAS prize


THE Malaysian-authored book ‘The Chulia in Penang: Patronage and Place-Making around the Kapitan Kling Mosque, 1786–1957’ has been shortlisted for the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) Book Prize.

Written by independent scholar Khoo Salma Nasution, the book is about the social history of the Tamil Muslim diaspora.
