Condo residents raise money for Nepali guards

From concerned residents: Residents Yap Yuet Yoong (third from left) and Rosy Khoo (fourth from right) presenting the cheques to the nine security guards and one of the cleaners at Jasmine Towers after a donation drive by the condominium’s residents.

Despite new taxes and rise in living costs, residents from SS2’s Jasmine Towers managed to raise more than RM16,000 to help out their condominium’s Nepali security guards, all of whom had lost their homes in the April 25 earthquake.

Jasmine Towers resident Margaret Ban said the fundraising project was started after the property’s management council learned that the guards would not be able to travel home to be with their families.
