DBKL urged to set up task force to put an end to long-anticipated housing crisis

THE Federal and Selangor Community Association (Permas), a non-governmental organisation that helps people move out of temporary homes and into better accommodation in the Klang Valley, said it was not surprised to hear of the long waiting list for government housing units in the city.

“Not surprised at all. The last time a former mayor brought it up was five years ago, the figure stood at 26,000 then. Today the numbers have more than doubled. That’s scary,” said Permas head Tan Jo Hann.
