Probe into burst pipe continues

Cause to be determined: Following the incident last Thursday, a 100m stretch of Jalan Bukit Bintang between the Jalan Imbi intersection and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur was closed. The depression had developed into a sinkhole.

THE finger-pointing over what caused last week’s sinkhole in Bukit Bintaing continues.

MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd (MGKT), the underground works package contractor for Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Sungai Buloh Kajang Line (KVMRT SBK Line) said in a statement a broken water pipe led to a rapid washout of soil from under the guard post near the Audi showroom.
