New agency to regulate and supervise quality of food

MALACCA: Malaysia will have its own exclusive agency to regulate food safety, functioning just like United States’ Food and Drug Administration.

The present Food Safety and Quality department under the purview of the Health Ministry will be renamed as Food Safety Authority (FSA) and empowered with more clouts in protecting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety, dietary supplements and biopharmaceuticals products.
