Time’s up: Council personnel tearing down a large squatter shed near the Kanching river, a few hundred metres away from the Templer Park tourist area.

FORTY sheds built by squatters along the Kanching river near Templer Park and the Kanching Forest Reserve were demolished by the Selayang Municipal Council.

The sheds built on the riverbank were mostly abandoned when the council staff arrived, with signs of the occupants leaving in haste as smoke could be seen from hurriedly put-out fires and abandoned cooking stoves.
