KOTA KINABALU: A woman who saw an elderly man sitting alone by the sidewalk chose to trust her instincts and went over to help him when most most passers-by assumed that the old man was resting.

It turned out that the woman, Nurisma Jibri, who was actually an off duty police volunteer had thought right as the old man was actually not well and could not stand up.
