State plans to turn Sia Boey into a heritage square with a Victorian feel

Rosy days ahead: The abandoned old Prangin market in George Town, Penang, will be turned into a tourist attraction.

Plans are afoot to turn the old Prangin market vicinity into a heritage square with an urban park.

Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik said a Victorian market concept would be used to give the place, fondly referred to as Sia Boey, a new look and feel.
