SIBU: With the support of the local communities, the Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has managed to reduce the volume of wastes to be disposed of at the public landfill by 3.28% last year compared with 2013.
SMC chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King told the full council meeting yesterday that last year a total of 45,995 tonnes of wastes were disposed of at Kemuyang Sanitary landfill which was 1,509 tonnes less than the 47,505 tonnes in 2013.
