More funds needed to help handle future rescue ops

KUANTAN: The Pahang Fire and Rescue Department will request for additional assets to enhance its effectiveness and capabilities in handling future flood rescue operations.

State director Datuk Abdul Wahab Mat Yassin said the department would require an additional 63 rescue boats and at least 20 lorries of various tonnes including those which could move through six-metre deep floodwaters.
