Sewerage company to show volunteers importance of caring for waterways

Better than before: The litter-strewn Sungai Way riverbank in PJS 5. Kalithasan says GEC spent several years working on the river and its condition has improved tremendously since they first started.

A TOTAL of 135 volunteers will be getting their feet wet next week when they show their love for our waterways by participating in a river-cleaning programme under the “Do Good, Volunteer” initiative.

Organised by non-governmental organisation (NGO) Global Environment Centre (GEC) in collaboration with Indah Water Konsortium (IWK), the river-cleaning exercise aims to educate its volunteers, and by extension the public, on the importance of caring for our waterways.
