The Brazilian supermodel is the brand’s first global spokesmodel.
Spanish apparel brand Desigual is celebrating its 30th anniversary by hiring world class supermodel Adriana Lima.
Known across the globe for her striking eyes and impressive curves, the Brazilian supermodel has just become the first global spokesmodel for the colourful ready-to-wear brand.
The tie-up does not come as a surprise, as the 32-year-old model walked the runway for Desigual in July 2013 during Fashion Week in Barcelona, Spain. Announcing the news, the brand declares that it sees Lima as the embodiment of its slogan “La Vida es Chula” (“life is cool”).
“Adriana will be an excellent la vida es chula ambassador because she reflects our values and represents Desigual women who are confident, optimistic and full of life. Our goal is to have all women in the world identify with our philosophy,” said Borja Castresana, Desigual marketing director.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel will be the face of Desigual during the Spring-Summer 2014 and Fall-Winter 2014-2015 seasons. The first campaign will be launched on April 20 in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Belgium.
Just shy of her 33rd birthday, Adriana Lima has posed for some of the world’s most renowned fashion photographers and starred in campaigns for countless fashion and beauty brands, including Maybelline, Loewe, Donna Karan, Miu Miu and of course Victoria’s Secret. — AFP Relaxnews
