FENDI marked the move from their 22 Avenue Montaigne, Paris address to Maison at No. 51 with a wonderful “Glory of Water” exhibition by Karl Lagerfeld. The exhibition which is held at the exclusive venue at the banks of the Seine, by the Pont Alexeandre III opened July 4 and will run until July 14, 2013.
It features an array of images taken by Karl Lagerfeld of the fountains of Rome, the restoration of the film Histoire d’Eau, produced by Fendi in 1977, and the publication of an eponymous photobook edited by Steidl, The Glory of Water.Displayed in five magnificent domes representing the cupolas that define the Roman skyline, Lagerfeld’s special project for Fendi is to promote a positive message of reconstruction, renewal, and restoration, capable of reaching far beyond its borders, as a strong sign of change. This is just one of the many continual events of the Fendi for Fountains project.
