MALAYSIAN fashion designer Vivienne Lin wants to change people’s misconception that Chinese-inspired designs refer only to the cheongsam or qi pao. She said the cheongsam only appeared in the last century or so, but “we have 5,000 years of Chinese history and philosophy as inspiration”.
