The new Dry Parlour at Bangsar Villiage I, KL.
Dry Parlour, KL's first no-frills wash-and-blow hair salon, opens to give women a quick fix to a bad hair day.
It was only a matter of time before someone thought of it – a no-frills, wash-and-blow hair salon. Sometimes, that’s all a woman wants, instead of being badgered by hairstylists to try new treatments or products that leave your purses lighter.
Dry parlours are quite the trend now around the world. It’s a quick fix session and a short pampering for those who don’t have hours to spend at the hairdresser's. The first blow-dry bar in Kuala Lumpur opened two months ago at Bangsar Village 1, and Dry Parlour has already garnered a number of regulars.
The salon uses exclusive premium products – Sachajuan shampoo and styling products – and offers indulgent treatments from Previa. And every wash-and-blow comes with a complimentary drink.
One session, regardless of the hair length, is RM48 with add-ons starting at RM15. There’s a menu of six styles, including Dry Parlour’s signature “Beach Head”. Other services include hair and scalp treatments, up-dos, and make-up by appointment.
Whether you’re a working mum, career girl, happy homemaker or just a lady who lunches, you deserve to look your best. At Dry Parlour, all that takes is 45 minutes. This service is especially nifty if you're going out or going somewhere special, and you just need a pick-me-up for your hair.
To ensure you hang on to your great hairdo before the next wash, the latest Sachajuan Volume Powder, a powder-based spray that provides structure and creates great volume, does the trick. This gives hair a slightly matte finish and fresher feeling in-between shampoos. The spray-on product is easy to use, and unlike other dry shampoos it doesn’t leave a powdery residue and needn’t be combed out.
According to Sachajuan, over-shampooing can strip the hair of its natural oils and cause it to become dry and frizzy. It recommends that you shampoo every other day and use a dry shampoo in between. The Volume Powder is suitable for long and short hair.
Acting as a volumiser, the spray-on serves to absorb excess oil on the scalp and has added pigments suit darker hair. It also helps to cover the regrowth on darker coloured hair. The Volume Powder is priced at RM99 and RM105 (Dark). Sachajuan products are sold at Dry Parlour and Ken’s Apothecary.
