Joudan Dunn is the new face Maybelline New York.
Maybelline New York follows through on other beauty companies that have named women of colour as their 2014 spokesmodel by going with Brit beauty Jourdan Dunn.
Maybelline New York has announced that London beauty Jourdan Dunn is their newest spokesmodel. She'll join an elite group of Maybelline models that includes Christy Turlington and Emily DiDonato. “Jourdan’s look, style and positive energy are perfect for the Maybelline New York brand,” says Jerome Bruhat, global brand president of Maybelline New York. “She truly reflects Maybelline’s vision of global beauty.”
Dunn was discovered by a model scout while out with friends. She made her runway debut at the 2007 Fall New York Fashion Week. As a featured model in British Vogue, labelled as a “new star” and named “Top 10 Newcomer” by style.com that year, Dunn was on the road to success very early in her career.
“It is an honour to be a spokesperson for such an iconic brand,” says Dunn. “I am proud to say that I am a Maybelline girl and hopefully I can make people feel the same way I did when I saw the advertisements growing up. The brand imagery is always beautiful and positive. To now be a part of that is a dream come true!”
Dunn has lit up the runways for Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Burberry, Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Hermes, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Oscar de la Renta, Prada and Tom Ford. She's also been a part of various campaigns for Aldo, Banana Republic, Benetton, Burberry, ck Calvin Klein, John Galliano, Tommy Hilfiger and Yves Saint Laurent.
She's appeared in American, British, French, Italian, Japanese and Russian Vogue. And she's graced the pages of Allure, Dazed & Confused, i-D, Numero, POP, V and W.
Dunn has a son, Riley, who was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. This led to her active involvement as the Parent Ambassador for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. And as a self-taught cook, she hosts a lifestyle and cooking programme called Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn on Jay Z’s YouTube channel, Life+Times.
She makes her Maybelline New York debut in print and TV advertising campaigns this month.
