Imagine the Kaiser’s touch in the scent.
THE German designer finally lifted the veil on his highly awaited debut fragrance line with an event in Paris.
According to Kaiser Karl, “perfume is like fashion for the nose,” and the designer, who is known for his extravagant runway presentations, certainly went all out with the star studded Paris launch of his debut fragrances on Tuesday night.
The women’s scent was created by Christine Nagel and Serge Majoullier, who described the challenge: “creating a fragrance for Karl Lagerfeld is translating a whole universe of fabrics, sophisticated cuts, textures, strong values and images.”
The duo’s “olfactive fabric” opens with lemon and peach, working its way to a heart of rose, magnolia and plumeria with basenotes of musk, amber and woods.
The men’s fragrance was concocted by Jean-Christophe Herault, who described how he had translated Karl’s “Black and White emblematic colours into a contrast of expressive and sensual raw materials”.
The juice opens with lavender and mandarin zest, developing a crisp heart of apple and violet leaves, with a sandalwood and amber drydown.
There is also a scented body cream version of the women’s fragrance available. The line will be available exclusively at Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais in Paris and in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques. – AFP Relaxnews
