Shiseido’s new skincare line, Ibuki, is targeted at women 25 to 34 years old.
THERE are some things money can buy, such as a great pair of heels and a night out with the girls.
However, most women dream of having perfect skin and even money can’t guarantee that. Shiseido’s new skincare line, Ibuki, is developed specifically for women 25 to 34 years old, who experience skin problems after several nights without enough sleep; hormone related breakouts, dry and rough skin, and visible pores. The new line is claimed to build skin resistance against harmful UV rays, dryness and stress.
The products are formulated with PhytoResist Complex based on Shapememorising Cell Technology, said to inhibit surface cell shrinkage, and it works to fill in, clear out and build up the skin. Ingredients include lamium album extract and trehalose, peony root extract and yuzu seed. The products in the range include a cleanser, softening concentrate, refining moisturiser, protective moisturiser and eye correcting cream.
Prices range from RM115 to RM170. Available at all Shiseido counters nationwide.
Images of spring
ESCAPISTS can now save on a flight ticket – one whiff of Givenchy’s brand new fragrance is all they need to be transported. Inspired by the scent of flowers, Un air d’escapade conjures up images of spring time in an enchanting garden in France. The composition opens with refreshing notes of grapefruit blossom, mandarin, lychee and white peach. The heart captures white flowers of gardenia, rose and fresh, slightly fruity osmanthus, while white cedar, milk, sandalwood and musk leave a light trail on the skin.
Of course, one should always look their best, even in the midst of a mind-travel. Dress up the lashes with a flick of Givenchy’s Noir Couture waterproof mascara. This four-in-one wand creates intense volume, strong curl, infinite length, and complete lash care, thanks to its low-water content formula enriched with polybutene, or liquid polymers that instantly adhere to lashes upon application.
Available at Givenchy counters.
Living for the thrill
GUYS and fast cars go hand in hand, it seems. The association truly embodies the risk-taker in a man, and further denotes the daring confidence he possesses. The new Ralph Lauren fragrance captures this very essence. Polo Red is described to be the ultimate in design, power and distinction – taking inspiration from the Ralph Lauren Car Collection, one of the world’s most prestigious collections of exquisite cars.
It features top notes of grapefruit, cedrat and cranberry; middle notes of saffron, lavandin and sage; and base notes of wood, amber and coffee.
The high-gloss, opaque bottle is a striking, fiery red, mimicking the sleek curves of an automobile. The bottle is topped with a matte black cap.
Prices start from RM210. Available at all Ralph Lauren fragrance counters.
After summer scent
VERBENA yields a second harvest in October, after summer is over. L’Occitane was so taken by the spell of this “sacred herb” that it has come up with three luminous scents: Verbena (Green Citrus), Mint Verbena (Aromatic Citrus) and Citrus Verbena (Fruity Citrus). An engraved leaf adorns the boxes and labels of all three collections, highlighted by silver hot foil stamping which tells of its journey through Provence.
Hinting of citrus fruits and crushed leaves, the Verbena (Green Citrus) EDT is designed for both men and women, and has organic verbena extract. The top notes of orange and lemon lead to heart notes of verbena and petitgrain, and then descend to base notes of rose and geranium. The limited editions offer a Fresh Roll-on bottle, Fresh Summer Mist, Fresh Shower Gel and bath salts, as well as a Fresh Body Lotion SPF 25.
The Mint housed in frosted bottles offer head notes of lime and grapefruit, a heart of verbena, spearmint and peppermint which goes into a base of white wood and musk. Exfoliating Shower Gel and Body Ice Gel versions are available.
The Fruity Citrus offers a twist with head notes of lemon and grapefruit, heart notes of verbena and a cedar base.
Prices start from RM70. Available at L’Occitane outlets.
Joie de vivre
BEAUTY is as beauty does. A woman who is boldly elegant and radiates in confident femininity will often light up a room with just her smile and energy.
The new Especially Escada Elixir channels this notion. It is claimed to be an intense scent that embodies happiness and sophistication.
As a reinterpretation of the original rose-based fragrance, this latest addition to the brand’s Especially Escada collection carries refreshing top notes of pear, ambrette seed and grapefruit.
This is then followed by a heart of Turkish rose absolut, ylang-ylang, accords of prune and fresh plums; and finally a base of patchouli, white musk, dry amber, cashmere and Madagascar vanilla.
The juice comes in a square glass flacon whereby the iconic EE logo, originally designed by the Escada founder, Margaretha Ley, appears on the lid and bottle’s underside.
Renowned supermodel Bar Refaeli is the face of Especially Escada Elixir, cited as the perfect balance between sophisticated elegance and high-energy glamour – which is what the scent is all about.
Prices start from RM186. Available at all Escada fragrance counters.
