‘Crème Métamorphique is capable of penetrating the lower parts of the skin,’ says Danish dermatologist Dr Carsten Mikkelsen.
A Danish dermacosmetic brand uses a state-of-the-art diagnostic tool to improve skin structure.
A DANISH dermacosmetic (beauty and skincare repair) brand has reached our shores, promising to rejuvenate and strengthen skin’s elastic fibre structure in just five days.
The brand’s high claim to fame is the formulation of Crème Métamorphique, a patented vitamin A anti-wrinkle cream that is touted to help to rebuild collagen fibre structures.
A study conducted by the dermatological department at Marselisborg Hospital in Central Denmark shows that the cream can strengthen skin’s elastic fibre structure after a five-day treatment.
“Crème Métamorphique is capable of penetrating the lower parts of the skin. It is proven in an independent double blinded, placebo-controlled Danish study which was carried out by dermatologist Professor Peter Bjerring at Marselisborg Hospital. Age degeneration will be reduced to an extent where it can be seen both by the naked eye and with a medical ultrasound machine,” said Danish dermatologist Dr Carsten Mikkelsen, who spoke at the brand’s launch in Kuala Lumpur recently.
The dermacosmetic brand also prides itself in offering consumers with a skin analysis using a state-of the-art Ultrasound DermaScan machine. The device can track changes within the skin from the surface up to a depth of about 30mm.
“DermaScan is an unique patented medical ultrasound scanning technology that enables beauty consultants to analyse skin and obtain readings on the conditions and construction of skin down to the deepest layers. The consultants will then recommend suitable Beaute Pacifique products tailored to address your needs. The results are then used to analyse skin structure before and after the application of products,” explained Dr Mikkelsen.
Beaute Pacifique was founded in 1997 by engineers and chemists Flemming K. Christensen and Gunnar Svendsen with the ideology to create skincare products backed up by scientific research. The founders are also creators of Cortex Technology, which develops and produces advanced medical electronic equipment for skin diagnostics.
Currently, the brand is available across the globe including United States, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. The skincare range is distributed here by Asia Beaute Lab Sdn Bhd.
Dr Mikkelsen explained that the scan’s uniqueness lay in its ability to track changes within skin (from the surface across the entire depth) to show dermal fibre density (where collagen is found). The colours indicate the density of elastic fibre structures of skin. The brighter areas indicate healthy, intact skin whereas the darker black areas identify sun-damage and the loss of fibre structure.
“The machine reveals skin’s condition, collagen structure and dermal fibre density. One can view how much collagen is present in the epidermis and find out if there are any inflammatory activity in skin. Upon scanning, beauticians will then recommend specific products that work best for your skin,” he said.
In Malaysia, Beaute Pacifique’s range offers 30 skincare and body care products including cleansers, toners, anti-ageing moisturisers, stretch mark fade cream, exfoliators and eye creams, suitable for young and mature skin. Besides Creme Metamorphique, the brand’s other star products are Creme Paradoxe, an anti-ageing day cream said to restore skin’s integrity. The cream, which contains antioxidants procyanidin and resveratrol, helps to delay the ageing process and repairs effects of sun damage.
There’s also vitamin A anti-wrinkle cream Super3 Booster which has three forms of vitamin A to reduce wrinkles and stretch marks. It contains bee propolis to reduce skin sebum secretion and prevent impure skin that can lead to pimples. Mousse Nettoyant is designed for all skin types and cleanses clogged pores without irritating or drying skin.
> Beaute Pacifique products are available at Robinsons, The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley City in Kuala Lumpur. Prices range between RM138 and RM555. For details, call 03-7971 0101 or surf to beaute-pacifique.com.
