Keep your hair: Loreal Paris Fall Repair 3X Anti-hair Fall helps curb hair loss.
I’m 24 years old and my skin has been troubled with pimples, blackheads and whiteheads for about 10 years. I’ve tried many over-the-counter products as well as doctors’ prescriptions. Sometimes, my skin clears up, but this doesn’t last long. An outbreak will happen again after a few months, leaving behind scars and open pores. Now, my skin is rather dry on the cheeks and oily at the T-zone. The pimples are mainly found on the forehead, chin, cheeks and jawline. Please help. – Wendy
According to Christine Cheong, Yves Rocher training manager, everyone needs to have an understanding of how our skin behaves. In your case, a breakout mainly on the T-zone could be due to the dihydrotestosterone hormone that stimulates the sebaceous glands in these areas. It causes an increase in sebum production which leads to oiliness on the T-zone area. In addition, breakouts along the jawline are an indication of stress. As the follicles are filled with excess oil, they become blocked more easily. When this happens, trapped Propionibacteria acne multiply and blocked pores become inflamed, causing breakouts.
Yves Rocher’s Pure System skincare range targets in-depth spots, blackheads and white-heads. It’s oil-, soap- and paraben-free and non-comedogenic. It has antibacterial and prevention actions of salicylic acid, which eliminate dead cells and help reduce imperfections; the soothing action of organic aloe vera to reduce redness; hydrates and repairs the skin; and sebo-regulation action of vegetal flavonoids from scutellaria roots to reduce excess sebum for a matt complexion.
Cleansing with Pure System Daily Exfoliating Cleanser will reduce excess sebum and purify the skin, help reduce blackheads and prevent spots from reappearing. After seven days, there should be a visible reduction in blackheads by 84%, based on a satisfaction test on 25 people.
Next is toning, which helps to tighten pores, refine and mattify skin texture, and reduce the appearance of redness, thanks to the dual actions of organic aloe vera and salicylic acid.
Moisturising your skin with the lightweight Stop Blemish Lotion will reduce spots and blackheads, and refine skin texture. It has an eight hour mattifying effect and will help fade pimple scars.
Don’t touch, squeeze or pick at pimples during a breakout. This will further irritate your skin and induce inflammation, spreading the bacteria and oiliness to other parts of the face as well, resulting in a breakout.
Try using Pure System SOS 6Hrs Blemish Corrector to conceal and dry up pimples without dehydrating the surrounding skin. This corrector cum spot treatment helps reduce pimple inflammation, speeds the healing process and reduces scarring. Apply a small quantity of the product directly on the pimple.
Yves Rocher will be giving Wendy a Pure System set consisting of a Daily Exfoliating Cleanser, Clarifying Toner, Stop Blemish Lotion, Pore Clearing Mask and Blemish Corrector, altogether worth RM215.
I’M 42 and haven’t been an avid make-up user. Recently, I’ve received many negative comments on my pale look and I’m thinking of wearing nude make-up. However, I’m not really sure which is more suitable, BB cream, CC cream or liquid foundation. My objective is to have minimal make-up on while maintaining a healthy appearance. I’ve also got an oily scalp. I wash my shoulder length hair on alternate days. My hair seems to be getting thinner on top. I’ve tried many reputable brands for oily scalp, but there hasn’t been any improvement. My hair problem has been getting worse after the birth of my child three years ago. – Dot
Your hair follicle needs three things to produce healthy hair: minerals and vitamins, oxygen and adequate blood supply, says Kimberly Foo, L’Oreal Paris training manager. When your scalp produces too much oil, this can clog up your hair follicle and cause hair loss. Air and blood can’t reach your hair root efficiently because of the excess oil, and this interrupts the normal hair growth cycle. Certain illnesses or medications may cause oily scalp and hair loss. Inadequate nutrition, diets lacking in vitamin B, zinc or good fats, can lead to hair loss too.
Good hygiene and patience are needed to treat an oily scalp condition. Wash your hair at least once a day, particularly if the weather is hot and humid, if you’ve just exercised or perspire a lot. Wet your hair thoroughly and begin from the crown of your head, slowly progressing downwards as you massage your scalp gently, but thoroughly. Allow two minutes for the shampoo to work.
Rinse with cool water as it encourages pores to close, locking in moisture, reducing sebum-production and preventing hair loss. If your hair feels dry, follow through with a conditioner to the mid-section and ends of the hair. Never apply conditioner on the scalp as traces of oil left behind after rinsing could recontaminate the scalp.
Try using L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X Anti-hair Fall shampoo infused with arginine essence. Our first anti-hair fall hair care range, Fall Repair 3X is enriched with the amino acid arginine, which is essential for hair growth. The formula provides a triple action to reduce hair fall: nourishes the hair bulb, strengthens the fibre and makes hair more resistant. It also stimulates micro-circulation, nourishes and repairs hair from root to tip.
We all have arginine in our hair, however, with age, stress and diet, the levels of arginine can decrease, resulting in weakened and thinning hair.
The Tonic works in three ways: nourishes the hair root, restructures hair fibre and helps hair grow stronger. Part your hair with the nozzle while applying the tonic to roots. Gently massage the scalp with your fingers to activate micro-activation. Do not rinse. For best results, use as part of your daily regimen.
For your face, try L’Oreal Paris Lucent Magique BB cream if you want some cover up but don’t like foundation. It’ll help to even out your skin tone and cover blemishes. For blush, choose a colour similar to the colour your cheeks, when you pinch them lightly. Try L’Oreal Paris True Match Blush #102 True Rose and sweep onto the apples of your cheeks to give your face more of a glow. Go for a nude lip colour, or a slightly rosy coloured lip stain with L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip stain #600.
L’Oreal Paris will be giving Dot a L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X Shampoo, Conditioner and Tonic, as well as a Lucent Magique BB Cream, True Match Blush 102 True Rose and Shine Caresse Lip Gloss #600, altogether worth RM173.40.
