Prisoners get a chance to dance with their daughters

A dance with daddy: The event was born after discussions on ways to fortify inmates before they leave the system with strong bonds to their families. - TNS

An unusual experiment in American prisons holds dance parties so imprisoned fathers can interact with their daughters in a non-prison setting because the convicts’ ‘daughters are their future’.

In an American Federal Bureau of Prisons first, inmates serving time in a Miami federal detention centre are being allowed to dance with their daughters for an afternoon as part of a re-entry programme. The theme: There’s still time at the ball, still time to take an active role in their daughters’ lives.
