Top singer recognised as the year's best dresser at awards ceremony in Seoul.
K-POP giant G-Dragon won the grand prize at the Sixth Style Icon Awards in Seoul on Thursday.
Known for his charismatic performances and songwriting, the leader of boy band Big Bang has been among the so-called best dressers in the pop scene for years. He recently bleached his hair platinum for his music video for Coup D’etat, which topped music charts in South Korea and abroad.
The singer was named the “Style Icon of the Year” at the awards ceremony held in Sangam-dong and broadcast in 11 countries around the globe.
“There are so many fashionable people in Korea, so I don’t know if I should accept this award. But I do love that word, ‘style icon,’” the singer said at the ceremony.
G-Dragon and the rest of Big Bang are next scheduled to hold a total of 15 concerts around six cities in Japan, starting in Seibu Dome on Nov 16-17. – The Korea Herald/Asia News Network
