Anyone searching online for quality information on weight loss should expect to filter through junk advice first, for it's highly likely to show up before better sources do, according to a new US study.
"Since the first links that appear on an Internet search, regardless of the topic, receive nearly 90% of all clicks," says lead study author François Modave, PhD, chair of the Department of Computer Science at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, "this steers consumers to substandard information."
