Experience the drift of your life with none other than Malaysian drift queen Leona Chin. Party like there is no tomorrow with your favourite acts like Mizz Nina, B.O.B aka Bobby Ray and Far East Movement. These were some of the cool lifestyle experiences that Watsons VIP Card members got invited to recently.
And now, Asia’s leading health and beauty retailer is rolling out a new wave of lifestyle enhancing experiences: Dining privileges.
Watsons says it has now taken a more lifestyle approach to the privileges offered to members of the Watsons VIP Card and extended the benefits of the card to go beyond Watsons stores.
As the leading loyalty card in Malaysia, Watsons feels that it is timely that their customers should be rewarded beyond just shopping at Watsons, but also in other lifestyle experiences such as travel, entertainment, leisure and services.
The key focus for now is to build a strong proposition in dining privileges. But by yearend, members can expect to enjoy exciting offers and benefits across all the key categories identified: Shop, Indulge, Pamper, Explore. Watsons is targeting to get 100 F&B brand partners by year end with a network of over 1,000 outlets nationwide.
For this launching with Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur, Watsons is partnering with various popular F&B brands such as Grand Harbour, Brotzeit, Komugi, Delicious and San Francisco Coffee, just to name a few.
The Watsons VIP Card was launched in September 2010 with the key objective of rewarding loyal customers through an effective point system that gives up to 10 times the points on selected items purchased, exclusive member’s price items and invitations to “money can’t buy experiences” such as the Watsons Music Festival, and the most recent mass dance event, the Watsons Move Your Body held at the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park.
Last November, Watsons re-launched their VIP member card with Touch ’n Go features to allow the convenience of cashless shopping and free reload for all Touch ’n Go cards in all Watsons stores nationwide. To date, Watsons has an active member base of over two million members nationwide.
To encourage speed and cashless transactions, cardmembers enjoy five times the points on the total bill when they pay with their stored value in their Watsons Touch ’n Go Card.
Watsons has partnered with various popular F&B brands nationwide to offer cardmembers a plethora of dining privileges including discounts, cash vouchers and complimentary signature food items with minimum spending at Partner outlets.
To enjoy the privileges, cardmembers just have to flash the Watsons VIP Card before payment. According to Watsons, they are working closely with merchant partners to come up with exciting and relevant offers and discounts for cardmembers.
Cardmembers are encouraged to update their contact details at their nearest Watsons store to receive updated and exciting offers.

Baum – Baumkuchen by Komugi
Lot LG-030 & 031, Lower Ground Floor,
Tel: 03- 2287 5520
Baumkuchen, from Germany, is a traditional layered cake and one of the more popular desserts in Japan. Meaning “tree” or “log”, it is made of 15 to 18 layers of batter consisting of butter, vanilla, eggs, sugar, salt and flour.
It is baked a layer at a time on a rotating spit over an open oven. Each layer is browned on the spit before a new layer is carefully brushed on, bringing a spongy fullness to the cake. It comes in hard and soft varieties, baked fresh daily. There is also Cool Baum, which is like an ice cream cake, but not quite.
Watsons VIP Card members enjoy 10% off the total bill with minimum spend of RM30 in a single receipt.
Goku Raku Ramen
Lot S-025 & 026, Second Floor,
Tel: 03-2201 8779
Goku Raku Ramen is home to the “Horikiri Style” ramen, discovered by noted ramen
connoisseur Teruhisa Shimizu.
The unique style meshes well with the
palatable pork, chicken-and-fish broth,
as well as the Shio (salt) and Shoyu (Japanese soy sauce) soup base.
The broth is simmered for a long time to bring out its flavoursome taste and the ramen is made fresh daily.
Each serving of ramen is cooked firm to the bite, with fragrant aroma and taste of wheat exuding from every chew.
A must-try is the Five Star broth (pic), a black broth infused with Japanese fish powder and aromatic charred crushed garlic oil. But don’t forget the delicious lava egg, which is soft-boiled so the white is cooked solid, but the yolk remains runny. It is then marinated in sauce till it is just the right taste and texture.
Watsons VIP Card members enjoy 10% off the total bill with a minimum spend of RM60 in a single receipt.
Lot G (E)-017, Ground Floor (Boulevard),

Homemade Fish Head Noodle
Lot G (E)-015, Ground Floor (Boulevard),
Tel: 03-2282 0216
Homemade is the operative word here. That extends to making the soup stock from scratch using fresh ingredients. The signature dishes here include the Fried Fish Head Bee Hoon with XO Sauce, a dish that comes with chunks of fish, chopped tomato and preserved vegetables.
The XO sauce is, you guessed it, homemade. There’s also a fresh water prawn version of the dish.
The noodles here are thicker and do not absorb the soup easily, hence the strands do not turn soggy even after prolonged soaking.
Watsons VIP Card members enjoy 10% off on ala carte items.
Lot G (E)-019, Ground Floor (Boulevard),
Tel: 03-2201 8168
There is a bit of the nostalgia at Reminisce, as the name suggests. So don’t be surprised to find food associated with your childhood here; the idea is to invoke fond memories for diners.
The best of local street snacks, ranging from dry curry chicken noodle, yam cake with sundried shrimps topped with freshly chopped spring onions to wok-fried turnip cakes with bean sprouts and nasi lemak with curry chicken, pepper the menu.
Some may find the piece de resistance in the signature pork ribs done in a Mongolian style, or even a simple pan-fried chicken chop with pumpkin gravy... dine in or to-go, daily. Watsons VIP Card members get 10% off total bill.
