One of the very few perks of my job is that it affords a degree of global mobility – and so I ended up working in Kuala Lunpur for a couple of years on a contract. While in Kuala Lumpur, some friends from the UK came to visit and told me that they had encountered a vile dish made with rotten bean curd while meandering through the stalls either in Pudu Market or Kepong – I forget which.
