Watch animals to detect quakes, scientists tell poor countries

Scientists say the best and cheapest way to detect earthquakes before they happen is to simply watch wild animals.

Wild animals can predict earthquakes several weeks before they strike, and motion-activated cameras that track their movements can be adopted in quake-prone countries as an affordable early warning system.
