US casino resort Atlantic City falls on hard times

The few visitors who turn up at Atlantic City are handed free pink magnets in the local museum with the catchphrase “Don't stop believing” – in a city where a quarter live below the poverty line.

For decades, Atlantic City in New Jersey, USA was a popular vacation destination, with glittering casinos, sandy beaches and the boardwalk running along the Atlantic Ocean. Tourists poured in and locals reaped the rewards.
