Social media users can choose furniture for CB2 apartment to create ‘an eclectic mix’ of tastes.
US-based home décor brand CB2, an offshoot of Crate&Barrel, is offering social media users the chance to design a New York apartment on Pinterest while it comes to life in the real world.
The company has rented out Apt CB2, a five-room apartment on Broadway, and chosen five interior designers to fill it with furniture over a five-day period. The twist? The public will choose which pieces make the cut.
Each of the interior designers will pin their favourite décor items on Pinterest, and the pieces with the most likes within one hour will be moved into the building. The apartment’s spaces include a bedroom, office, dining room, living room and rooftop area.
The playful idea, according to the brand, is to create “a collaboration between all of our tastes, an eclectic mix of everyone’s ideas that none of us could have created on our own.”
The Apt CB2 project will run May 7-11. – AFP Relaxnews
