Louis Vuitton creates tailor-made luggage for the BMW i8.
The luxury fashion brand has tailor-made a collection for the new BMW i8A.
Louis Vuitton’s tailor-made luggage for the new BMW i8A discreetly styled collection mimics the hybrid sportscar’s aesthetics and is designed to fit perfectly within its interior.
Comprising two travel bags, a business case and a garment bag, each item has a carbon black finish, dyed, natural leather handles and comes complete with Louis Vuitton’s unmistakable checkered Damier pattern.
And while each bag is also laser-etched with the Louis Vuitton signature, the only visual nod to the fact that the collection is specifically for the new BMW is the black and electric blue microfiber lining inside each item – a reference to the German carmaker’s brand colours – that and the fact that like the cutting-edge car they’ve been created for, the luggage is made entirely from carbon fiber to save weight yet increase strength.
Patrick-Louis-Vuitton, head of special orders at Louis Vuitton and great-grandson of the fashion house’s founder says, “This collaboration with BMW epitomises our shared values of creativity, technological innovation and style. Our craftsmen at Louis Vuitton have enjoyed the challenge of this very special project, using their ingenuity and attention to detail to create a truly made to measure set of luxury luggage. This is a pure expression of the art of travel.”
The Louis Vuitton luggage series will be available upon request in a selection of LV stores worldwide starting April 1. -- AFP Relaxnews
